Investment strategy
FGEN invest in assets that help generate clean energy, manage resources more efficiently and support the transition to a lower-carbon economy, with the aim of delivering both income and long-term growth for shareholders.
We look for investments that can provide reliable and predictable revenues, benefit from long-term contracts or supportive regulations, and are built on proven technologies that have demonstrated dependable performance over time.
Our portfolio
FGEN’s portfolio spans three key areas of environmental infrastructure: renewable energy generation, other energy infrastructure and sustainable resource management.
Through these investments, we support the generation of clean energy, improve the efficient use of resources and help enable the transition to a lower-carbon economy. The portfolio combines established assets that generate reliable income with selected growth opportunities, providing shareholders with a diversified source of income and long-term growth potential.
Our portfolio by sector
FGEN has invested in operating onshore wind farms in the UK. All FGEN owned wind farms are supported by the UK’s commitment to low carbon energy generation targets and are ROC or FiT accredited.
Waste & Bioenergy
FGEN has invested in municipal waste management, wastewater treatment and biomass projects based in the UK and an energy-from-waste project in southern Italy.
Anaerobic Digestion
FGEN has invested in operating agricultural anaerobic digestion plants in the UK that inject a renewable biogas into the main gas network as well as creating renewable electricity to be used onsite. All of FGEN’s AD plants are accredited under the RHI and FiT regimes.
Solar
FGEN has invested in operating ground mounted and rooftop solar plants in the UK. All of FGEN’s solar plants are supported by the UK’s commitment to low carbon energy generation targets and are ROC or FiT accredited.
Low Carbon and Sustainable Solutions
Low carbon and sustainable infrastructure assets are an integral part of addressing climate change. These assets either offer a more efficient way to generate or distribute energy, are a means to reduce the demand of energy users or provide sustainable approaches to economic activity.
Controlled Environment
Food production and agriculture is one of the key global sectors that need to decarbonise – science-based estimates calculate that it is responsible for between a quarter and a third of global GhG emissions. Controlled environment projects can be part of the solution towards a more sustainable production of food.
Hydro
FGEN has invested in operating run of the river hydro plants in the UK. The plants are accredited under the FiT regimes.
