About Us
Across Foresight Group, we manage c.£12bn of assets, £10bn of which are invested in private infrastructure assets.
Our infrastructure portfolio consists of over 430 infrastructure assets within 12 distinct asset classes, across the UK, Europe and Australia.
Foresight Capital Management “FCM” was established in 2017 to enable retail and institutional investors to access infrastructure, renewables, and real estate investments through actively managed, public market funds.
Characteristics of Real Assets
Infrastructure assets tend to have constant demand because they provide critical services for daily living. This makes them relatively consistent and insensitive to economic and market cycles
Infrastructure assets are typically large physical assets that take substantial time and investment to develop and maintain. The capital-intensive nature of infrastructure assets creates a barrier to entry that results in a limited numbers of competitors and sometimes effectively monopolistic conditions.
A high proportion of infrastructure investments' revenues come from long term contracts that are often linked to inflation and interest rate rises. The counterparties for these revenue streams are normally government and often revenue streams are protected to some extent by government policy.
Private market infrastructure investments are illiquid in nature and require high minimum investment sizes.
These barriers make it difficult for retail investors to participate in private market infrastructure opportunities, which are typically more accessible to institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals.
